Die Hard opening analysis

In the opening to Die Hard there are many different shots used to show the situation like when middle shots are used to film the security guards and cameras to show that the main character to be in danger very soon and the man he’s dealing with is dangerous.

Die Hard being an action film there are many situations suggesting that there is going to be action soon, like the fact Bruce Willis always carries a gun which suggests that he will have to use it at some point in the film.

With the opening scene in Die Hard it becomes clear who will be the hero and who will become the villain because of the fact that Bruce Willis is the main character we follow and the boss of his wife’s work who has money, security and power who is going the enemy.

The villain tends to wear very expensive tailored clothing which many people can't afford to wear on a daily basis which would make most of the lower class audience despise him.
