My Favourite Film Genre

My favourite film genre is thriller because I’ve always found that thriller films have always attracted most audiences and I love the intensity and the storyline behind most thriller films. The film the grey is one of my favourite thriller films because it has a great back plot and storyline and I found that the film kept you hooked because of the un-predictability of the script and the cliff-hanger at the end film was almost inspirational.

The thriller film genre tends to cover the films that have a lot of action and intensity which keeps the viewers hooked with the thrill that the film creates. The genres crime and thriller tend to be treated as the same genres because they create the same effect.

Preliminary Task Evaluation

For the next preliminary task I need to follow 180 degrees line when filming a room and I need to film over opposite shoulders when it comes to filming conversations.

The rest of the film however was good because we filmed in good light and our cuts to the conversation and to filming the door opening was good and smooth.




With the editing our editing when Richard was walking in the room was a bit clunky the rest of our editing especially with the door was very smooth.

The reason why our editing within the room was a bit clunky was that because we didn’t follow the 180 degree rule.

Paranormal Activity 2 opening analysis

The opening two minutes to paranormal activity 2 shows us that the family are suspicious of the house that they have just moved in to because they are setting up a system of cameras all over the house to keep an eye and collect footage of anything that takes place in the house.

The family are presented as quite wealthy when you see the house their living in, the clothes their wearing and life they lead.

They present a typical family image with the older teenage child who is quite separate and the younger innocent sweet child who lives life without a care and the baby which is at the centre of the family’s attention like a baby would be in a family like that.
